When various troubles arise, or temptations overtake a believer’s daily life, the causes can often be linked to a weak relationship with Jesus and a lack of knowledge of what God has already told us about how to handle situations and what He expects of us.

Discipleship is the bridge between a weekly Christian and a daily follower of Christ. It’s a process of following through on what Jesus said we must do if we “desire” to come after Him (Luke 9:23).

Calvary Knoxville offers a distinct study path that lays a broad-based foundation. It introduces us to various areas of life where we need the discipline of a professional athlete, how our Wonderful Counselor gives us guidance and instruction, and how He wants to use us in the lives of our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Becoming more like Jesus is the essence of Discipleship.

After going through our Discipleship Ministry, people experience a closer relationship with God, clarity about how God wants to use them in ministry, and a feeling of being led to be disciples and counselors themselves.

While we offer structured courses, the journey of becoming more like our Savior is lifelong. So consider these classes “just the beginning” of how God is going to mold and shape you into the likeness of His Son, with a unique purpose that He planned before you were born!

Everything begins in the Foundations class, a prerequisite for the Disciplines and Counseling classes.  

The Parenting and Marriage classes will be independent of these, and there are no prerequisites for those classes except to either have kids or be married!
